Diamant Noir
(Hotel Marrakech, Place de la Liberté. Tel. 024 434 351 ) A no-frills nightclub of the kind found across the globe, Diamant Noir attracts a vibrant mix of students and visitors.

Jad Mahal
(Fontaine de la Mamounia, Bab Jdid, Hivernage. Tel. 02 443 6984) The third part of the Jad Mahal empire is its uber-chic club. Purple and leopard-skin abound, with specially designed souble stools/sofas behind the bar being a unique feature. The clientele are the wealthy and glamorous, who come to dance the night away free of sleaze and intrusion. Currently an in-house DJ works the decks playing a mixture of house and club classics, but there are moves afoot to introduce some more well-known international names. At present the club has plans to expand every day of the week.

La Mamounia Casino
(Mamounia Hotel, Avenue Bab Jdid. Tel. 044 388 644) A little bit of Vegas in the Medina, this vast, vaulted casino is a popular with well-heeled Marrakechi and the international jet set. Dine before having a flutter on the tables.

Le Plage Rouge
(Route de l’Ourika 10km, Marrakech City. Tel. 024 378 086) Located 10 kilometres outside the city on the road to Ourika, 'The Red Beach’ is an all-singing, all-dancing hipster complex with an enormous pool.

Montecristo
(20 Rue Ibn Aicha, Gueliz/Hivernage. Tel. 024 439 031) Start your evening on the exotic roof terrace and, when a change of atmosphere is in order, you’ll only need to go down one floor to the Cuban-themed club to dance and sip mojitos.

New Feeling
(Palmeraie Golf Palace, Palmeraie. Tel. 024 301 010) This all-singing, all-dancing complex is a recent addition to the party scene, set a little way out of town. This where the city's cognoscenti head.

Nikki Beach
(Circuit de la Palmeraie. Tel. 024 332 494) There’s a reason why Nikki Beach continues to make the grade. It will fulfil all your luxurious needs with its vast swimming pool and billowing music tents dotted about the lawns.

Nikki Beach
(Palmeraie Golf Palace, Circuit de la Palmeraie. Tel. 024 332 494 ) During the day, people head here to lie by the pool, linger over an al-fresco lunch and listen to chilled music. Come night-time, the DJ pumps it up a level for the party crowd.

Nikki Beach Circuit de la Palmeraie
(Royal Palmaraie Golf Palace. Tel. 024 332 494) There’s no beach as such—just a series of lounge beds, chilling tents and dining tables arranged around a large pool with its own swim-up bar serving cocktails, cold wines and beers. After sundown in the summer the music gets pumped up and the place is transformed into a more upbeat party spot.

Pacha
(Boulevard Mohamed VI, Zone Hotelière de l’Aguedal. Tel. 02 438 8400) More a complex than a club, but the dance floor takes prominence, boasting international DJs and a party atmosphere at the weekend.
