Heathbank House

Ptarmigan Restaurant
  (Cairngorm Mountains, Aviemore. Tel. 01479 861 341) The UK's highest restaurant, set at 3,500 feet in the Cairngorm Mountains, is only open during the day in winter. Reached by Scotland's only mountain railway, you won't be disappointed: the views are breathtaking and the food out of this world.

  (4-6 Ness Walk, Inverness. Tel. 01463 237 377) Not only does the food look (and taste) great at this stylish restaurant, but the views are superb as well. Take your time and savour the modern Italian cuisine and the spectacle of the River Ness and Inverness Castle.
