In the last 12 months our growth has been dramatic: we have launched around
80 new routes across the network! As well as 'joining the dots' between
existing points in the network, we have also introduced brand new services to
a number of airports, offering passengers across Europe an even better choice
of top business and leisure destinations, all at our famously low fares. For
example, we have started a number of services to Eastern Europe, and now easyJet
flies to and from Krak—w and Warsaw in Poland, Riga in Latvia, Tallinn
in Estonia, Bratislava in Slovakia, and Budapest in Hungary. Our new services
to the Slovenian capital of Ljubljana are also proving very popular.
Lovers of Italy will be pleased to hear that we have already started services
to Turin—and flights to Pisa on the Italian mainland, as well as Olbia
and Cagliari in Sardinia, start later this year. We have also expanded our operation
in Spain, with services to and from Valencia and Almeria already underway and
flights to Asturias in the north of the country commencing shortly.
A major area of growth for us has been Germany. Almost a year ago we set up
a base in Berlin, and since then we have become the largest low- cost carrier
operating from the German capital with 27 routes on offer. More recent developments
in our German network include Cologne and Dortmund (our second national base),
as well as Basel on the border with France and Switzerland. Other new destinations
include Cork, Knock and Shannon in the Republic of Ireland, Grenoble in France—and
coming soon, Maastricht- Aachen in the Netherlands. But it won't stop
there! We have plans for further growth across Europe—so make sure you
keep up to date with all the latest developments by registering to receive our
emails at easyJet.com.
