Last month saw the start of an exciting year for easyJet, with many plans for growth and expansion throughout the network. You may have read that we will start operating three new routes in May, when we introduce daily services from Newcastle to Palma (Majorca), Paris Orly to Berlin Schönefeld, and Paris Orly to Naples. Seats for these routes are already on sale on easyJet.com. This will bring our total number of routes to main city destination airports to 127, flying between 39 key European airports.
But this is just the start of the easyJet expansion this year. In the spring we will be adding nine new Airbus A319 aircraft to our fleet, which will result in increasing frequencies on existing routes, and the introduction of more new routes throughout Europe. We will be expanding by around 20% in 2004 with one of the world’s youngest fleet of aircraft.
A very important element of the easyJet expansion is our new base in the German capital, Berlin. From May, we will be flying to 11 destinations across Europe from Berlin Schönefeld airport, bringing low-cost air travel to millions more people, and creating hundreds of jobs in the local area of Berlin.
Finally, don’t forget that you can look up and change your Internet flight bookings online, 24 hours a day, saving yourself £5 on the fee charged through the call centre. This online service is fast, effective and quick, and allows you to be in total control of your travel itinerary.
Thank you for flying with easyJet today, and I hope we can welcome you back aboard soon!
