Snappy Bistro
(Starco, Playa de Las Americas. Tel. 922 752 059) This English-owned restaurant is known for serving excellent steaks and home-cooked pies. Popular due to its low prices and varied menu.
Dante Alighieri

El Patio

Linekers Bar
(Starco, Playa de Las Americas. Tel. ) One of Tenerife’s most famous establishments. With the island's only female DJ, Paula, in residence, this lively bar promises a packed house every night and a loud, party atmosphere.

Take extra care on pedestrian crossings as drivers are not legally required to give way. And don't forget to look right, left, right—and not the other way around!
Key Area
Vilaflor, the highest village in Spain, is an excellent location for hikers who can choose from 11 nature trails giving access to Tenerife’s most spectacular sceneries, such as El Parque Natural de Ifonche and El Barranco Del Inferno.
This month
The Fiestas de Mayo (May Festival) carries on throughout the month in and around Tenerife’s capital Santa Cruz to celebrate the founding of the city in 1494, starting with the Day of the Cross (3 May).

Wine lovers will relish a visit to this quaint northern town, where sampling the local grapes is encouraged. Around 90 minutes' drive from the south, it's also home to the famous dragon tree, reported to be 1,000 years old.

The Guanches were Tenerife's original natives and typically had blonde hair and blue eyes. Evidence of their existence remains today in the historic old town of Masca.
