On the ground
Shop
What would be more appropriate to buy in Rimini than a bathing suit or beach accessories? Every kind of chic and elegant beachwear (bags, sandals, jewellery, cover-ups, bikinis) can be found in the three Agrodolce shops in the historic centre (all three are close together, in Piazza Cavour, Tel. 0541 781 029).
Insider Tip
Every Tuesday morning you can Walk Through the Past on a guided tour (available in a number of languages) covering the most noteworthy points of interest in the city. These wonderful wanders showcase different eras, including ancient Rome, the Middle Ages, Renaissance and modern times (9.30am on 4, 11 and 18 Sept. Public Relations Office, 158 Corso d'Augusto).
Key Area
If you are looking for a special meal, off the beaten path, in a place that's typical Rimini, try Bar dalla Jole. It is located directly to the right of the Rimini Canal Bridge, in front of the fishing boats. This little stand faces the sea and in the evening offers a wide selection of fish kebabs.
This month
The ground floor of the family home of Rimini-born Federico Fellini houses the Fellini Museum. The exhibition Fellini Privat features the photographs of Chiara Samugheo and includes 140 personal shots of the film director at various points in his life (until 14 Oct. 1 Via Oberdan).
Day Tripping
Cesenatico
 – A beautiful town 20km north of Rimini. The sea mingles with the fishing boats and houses of the splendid Canal Bridge, designed by Leonardo Da Vinci in 1502, under orders of Cesare Borgia.
No way!
In the church on Via Cairoli—built by the Augustinian Friars in the 13th century and famous for its 14th-century frescoes unearthed by an earthquake—there is a detail that marks a first in the history of art: one of the frescoes in the apse depicts a monk wearing glasses.
