Insider Tip
In Greece, news kiosks are known as periptero and offer everything from refreshments to sweets, cigarettes and even fresh produce. Stands in Nea Agora and Mandraki are open round the clock and also sell international papers.
Key Area
Socratous Street in the Medieval Town is the most hectic street inside the walls. There you'll find international brands, souvenirs, jewellery shops and stalls, cafeterias and restaurants, providing a pleasant walk in picturesque surroundings.

This beautiful island is north of Rhodes, about an hour away by ferry. Its main town is built on a hillside ans offers bars, restaurants and beaches, not to mention the breath-taking monastery of Archangel Michael.
No way!
The statue of the Winged Victory of Samothrace, welcoming the visitors to the antiquities wing of the Louvre Museum in Paris, is believed to be of Rhodian origin. It was an offering to the ancient Greek gods after a naval victory, back in the second or third centuries BC.
