Compagnia Pisana Trasporti (CPT) buses go to the centre every 20 minutes. Bus 3 stops at Pisa Central, Piazza Vittorio Emanuele, Riverside and Santa Chiara Hospital. Tickets: €0.77 (at the airport).
(44 Via del Borghetto. Tel. 050 578 427) Naples makes the best pizza in Italy and here you'll find a veritable celebration of Neapolitan specialities. Try the desserts, especially the babŕ, a mushroom-shaped sponge cake pastry soaked in liqueur.
(122 Via Andrea Pisano. Tel. 050 532 427) If all that pizza and pasta is getting too much for you, try this great Chinese restaurant in the city centre for delectable Szechuan and Cantonese dishes.
(120 Viale Gabrielle D'Annunzio. Tel. 050 960 091) An enchanting restaurant by the seaside at Marina di Pisa. The menu is predominately fish-based, freshly culled from the Tyrrhenean Sea. On sunny days, dine on the sunny terrace overlooking the sea.
(18 Viale Litoreanea. Tel. 050 36892) This seafood restaurant come highly recommended and is often dubbed one of the best in the city. It looks like the inside of a boat with its round tables and round windows. Everything on the menu is good, especially the platter of raw crustaceans or octopus alla catalana.
(46 Borzo Stretto. Tel. 050 580 244) A time-honoured bakery and bar famous for its chocolate semolina cake. On sunny days and balmy nights, why not sit at the outdoor tables as you sip a prosecco or cocktail.
(11 Via del Poschi. Tel. 050 578 555) Friendly and animated pub. One of the best in town, it attracts a lively crowd. Great for sandwiches and burgers, too.

Visit Macondho's, on Via Corsica near Piazza Cavallieri, a shop selling Middle Eastern and Indian-style lanterns, pillows, blankets, spreads and curtains made of precious silks and brocades.

Key Area
Near Piazza dei Cavalieri, Piazza Dante is frequented by students, so you'll find affordable restaurants, bakeries, bars and shops. It's surrounded by trees, flowerbeds and benches, making it a pleasant place to take a rest from sightseeing.
