(12 Seilergasse. Tel. 0512 583 046) Enjoy the Caribbean cuisine on the lovely terrace of this restaurant. Even the names of the dishes are mouth-watering: Caribbean coconut chicken or South Carolina honey ribs are excellent choices.
(12 Römerstrasse, Lans. Tel. 0512 379 696) Founded more than half a century ago, this restaurant offers exquisite Austrian specialities and an idyllic, rustic ambience. The menu includes typical hefty dishes such as goulash, dumplings and desserts such as Sacher torte and apple strudel.
(15 Salurner Strasse. Tel. 0512 593 5308) Named after Kaiser Maximilian’s favourite court jester, Guggeryllis has a regal air. The potted palms create an appealing ambience and the menu offers superb dishes such as roast loin of veal in morel sauce.
(149 Innrain. Tel. 0512 562 222) The venue for some of the greatest gigs of the town. Concerts by local and international hip-hop, rock and pop bands are organised on a weekly basis.

Don't be surprised to see the locals wearing traditional Tyrolean attire, even if it's not a festive day: the beautifully elegant clothes are very popular. Visit Lodenbaur, a shop that specialises in handmade regional clothing. It offers lovely dirndls, jackets, lederhosen and accessories (4 Brixner Strasse. Tel. 0512 580 911).
Insider Tip
The Museum of Folk Art is often overlooked by visitors, although it's among the most beautiful in Europe. The collection includes objects from Austrian and Italian Tyrol and focuses on arts and crafts, traditional costumes and masks (Tiroler Volkskunstmuseum, 2 Universitätsstrasse. Tel. 0512 5948 9510).

Amras is one of Innsbruck’s booming quarters. South of the city, here you'll find DEZ, the area's largest shopping centre, as well as one of the its most beautiful green spaces, the renaissance park of Castle Amras.
