Taxi :
The journey to the centre of town costs €30 and takes 30 minutes.
Bus :
Number 615 picks up from Helsinki-Vantaa every 15 minutes and stops at Rautatientori (the square by Central train station). Tickets: €3.80 (€5 from 2am-4.30am).

Café Bar No. 9
(9 Uudenmaankatu. Tel. 09 621 4059) This bistro-style eatery only looks unpretentious. Simple aesthetics cover up its bohemian core. Café Bar No. 9 is a favourite hangout for local artists, serving good sandwiches.
Kosmos
(3 Kalevankatu. Tel. 09 647 255) Famous throughout the country, Kosmos serves authentic Finnish food in an elegant 1920s-1930s décor.
Kappeli
(1 Eteläesplanadi. Tel. 010 766 3880) Beautiful and conveniently located on the Esplanade, Kappeli offers local cuisine including karelian rice pasties, reindeer and whitefish.
Postres
(8 Etelaesplanadi. Tel. 09 663 300) Don’t miss this Michelin-starred restaurant if you're in an adventurous mood. It has the most inventive menu in town, accompanied by a great wine selection. A dessert and a coffee are absolute musts.

Tavastia Club
(4-6 Urho Kekkosen Katu. Tel. 09 7746 7420 ) The legendary Tavastia is Helsinki’s premier rock venue. Spiritualized play on 6 November ( www.tavastiaklubi.fi).
Den Kungliga Klubben
(6A Mannerheimintie. Tel. 040 523 4407 ) This smart club is all about glitter and glamour—dressing to impress is highly recommended.

Shop
Helsinki 10 is where the capital’s trendy youth reaches its highest concentration. The shop is packed with limited editions of the world’s coolest clothing brands, vintage vinyl records and rare books (3 Eerikinkatu. Tel. 0105 489 801).
Insider Tip
Located behind the parliament building, Manala is one of few restaurants that serves food after 11pm (2 Dagmarinkatu. Tel. 09 5807 7707).
Key Area
Peaceful and elegant, Töölö is a district filled with parks and must-see attractions such as Temppeliaukion Kirkko, a church carved out of a solid piece of rock (3 Lutherinkatu). There's also the Sibelius monument (38 Mechelininkatu, Sibelius Park)—no less unusual and a real landmark.
